This can happen to anyone at the right time or at the most inopportune moment of their own free will or on behalf of their employer. To some people, the word “resignation” sounds scary, to others, it smells like freedom. In any case, you need the right exit strategy for a successful career. But how to resign without conflict? The answer is very important. Correct and wise actions during the resignation process ensure that you are creating optimal conditions for future success. There are a few key principles for how to resign gracefully that I will discuss in this article.

    Assess the situation

First, make sure that your resignation is the right decision. Don’t go just to draw the entire company’s attention to yourself. Weigh the pros and cons. Are you wondering if you can improve the aspects of your job that enthuse you? Could you get another job at the company? Have you talked to your manager, and does he know you are leaving? Did he have a chance to understand your needs?

Carefully review the work documents you signed. Are there any conditions, such as having to work for a certain period? Although the bond is illegal, some companies still sign bonds for a certain time. So, it’s also worth considering the financial implications of quitting, especially if you haven’t found another job.

    Choose the right time

After fully analyzing the situation and drawing a certain conclusion, it is better to quit. Analyze your career growth, financial stability, or other thing, so choose the right time.

    Submit your resignation letter

The resignation letter must be written in a formal style and without emotion. You should concisely express your intention to stop at this or that point. Please apply early so that you have sufficient time to fulfil your obligations to your colleagues.

Be prepared to answer questions regarding the reason for resigning.

Please answer honestly, tactfully, and respectfully to avoid damaging your reputation. This is a good opportunity to give your manager some constructive feedback. Justify your decision by giving all the reasons. Regardless of the circumstances that forced you to quit, be consistent. Be prepared to receive feedback from colleagues and others. If your company’s human resources department interviews on resignation, attend. Answer questions meaningfully, and don’t build bridges by saying negative things.

    Solve financial issues

Make sure all compensation and wage questions are clear and you haven’t forgotten to calculate them. Before leaving, make it all clear to the account department if anything is left behind.

    Quit smoothly

Please make every effort to ensure that your resignation does not cause problems for the company. Handle and delegate all issues. If time and circumstances permit, arrange for a representative. Some leave a phone number for colleagues to call for clarification if needed. This friendly attitude is often greatly appreciated. Overall, this is one of her episodes that will leave you with fond memories of working with her.

    Maintain confidentiality

Don’t talk about your resignation until it’s officially announced. If you decide to quit, don’t tell everyone you know right away. Don’t discuss resignation until you’ve discussed all the details with your boss.

    Don’t express negativity

When talking to colleagues about leaving, focus only on the positive aspects, especially how working at this company has helped you. Don’t brag about your new job. Be humble and appreciate what your company and co-workers have done for you. When leaving your job, don’t say anything bad about your former employer, boss, or co-workers.

Work hard until the last day and fulfil all obligations

How a person carries out his or her responsibilities during the resignation stage is a good indicator of that person’s character. This is where the true professionals come in. Be faithful as before. Don’t act like a temporary employee or talk to a disgruntled colleague. Unfortunately, when many people quit unexpectedly, they can forget all the years they spent working hard and building their careers at the company. Within days, they accidentally tarnish their previous and often future reputations.

Inform your colleagues and business partners about resignation

After speaking with your manager, share the news with other managers and key employees you interacted with. Thank you to those who have worked with you successfully and helped you build your career.

    Say goodbye nicely

On the last day of work, you can arrange sweets on a small table. Your colleagues will remember this. Try to keep in touch with some of them and exchange contact information with important people. Send a farewell email to those you can’t meet in person.
